Packaging concept for Kärcher
Requirements and customer needs
In the future, KÄRCHER would like to use plastic-free packaging wherever possible. As the appliances are exposed to various stresses during transport and should always arrive intact and in good condition at the end customer, KÄRCHER is currently testing various natural materials for their application potential. RECOU is one of them. In particular, customers want the moulded parts to be highly stable and aesthetically pleasing, the surface to be as smooth as possible so that even scratch-sensitive areas of the products are not damaged, and the crumbling of individual husks from the moulded body due to shock loads during transport to be minimised. |
PACKAGING DEVELOPMENT
Since the beginning of the year, we have been developing packaging solutions for specific applications. This takes place in iterative coordination loops as part of a targeted development project. Our 3D designs are jointly approved, produced and then subjected to all possible stress tests in KÄRCHER’s in-house test environment. Based on the results, we make targeted improvements, e.g. in moulding, handling during packaging or surface coating. We are very optimistic that this project will enable us to develop a prototype packaging solution that meets all of KÄRCHER’s industrial requirements. Then „all“ we have to do is scale up our production capacity to be able to deliver the required quantities on a stable basis. |
